Dec 7-11
This week at my PDS I am trying to begin "wrapping up" units so students can be tested before Christmas Break. Algebra I students are continuing to work with slope and equations of lines, and many students are having difficulty understanding the concepts. I am struggling with how to help students have their "light bulb" moment where slope and equations of lines begin to make sense.
In Geometry, students are working on triangles. We have begun to present notes on power point slides in order to integrate more exciting features, such as animation, clip art movies, and sound. Students have responded well to the change. We are also incorporating some exploratory activities where students determine the theorems from the chapters by exploring the relationships between angles and sides of triangles.
Next week both classes will be finishing their units and beginning to review.
This Saturday, students have "Winter Dance" that I will be chaperoning. I am excited to see the students outside of class.
